Introduction

JSP Media LLC operates the BoardPass mobile application. This policy explains our information collection and protection practices.

Information We Collect

Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• App preferences (theme, time format, text size)
• Favorite airports (saved codes)
• Recent airports (viewed codes)
• Watched flights (flight numbers)
• Cached flight data (temporary offline viewing)

Location Data (Optional)

Approximate location may be used to identify nearby airports for the “Nearby” section. Processing occurs on-device only, with no server transmission. You may deny or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

Support Requests

If you contact support by email or use the in-app Help & Support chat, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your message, email address, app context, airport codes, flight numbers, screenshots, and diagnostic details needed to investigate the issue. If a defect is confirmed, support information may be used to create an internal GitHub issue.

Data We Do Not Collect Directly

BoardPass does not require a name, account, password, or profile. We do not sell personal information. We do not operate a user account database for the app.

How We Use Information

Network requests are made to retrieve flight, airport, weather, delay, and TSA wait information. Searches may send airport codes, flight numbers, route pairs, and selected dates to BoardPass servers and data providers. Support requests are used to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and maintain the app.

Third-Party Services

FlightAware AeroAPI

Provides real-time and scheduled worldwide flight data. Queries contain only airport codes or flight numbers. View their privacy policy at flightaware.com/about/privacy.

Google AdMob

BoardPass is free to download and is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, app interaction information, diagnostics, and other data to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads. BoardPass currently requests non-personalized ads where supported, but Google's SDKs and services may still process data as described in Google's policies.

Anthropic Claude and GitHub

BoardPass includes optional Help & Support features powered by Claude AI. If you use this feature, your support messages and any screenshots or context you choose to include may be processed to help answer your question or prepare a bug report. Confirmed bug reports may be stored as GitHub issues for tracking and resolution.

Aviation Weather Center

Provides official METAR weather conditions for airports. Queries contain only ICAO airport codes.

Federal Aviation Administration

Provides real-time ground delay and ground stop program data. No personal information is transmitted.

Transportation Security Administration

Provides current security checkpoint wait times. No personal information is transmitted.

Data Storage and Security

All preferences and cached data are stored locally on your device. We do not operate user databases. Flight data is temporarily cached on-device and refreshes automatically upon reconnection.

Children's Privacy

BoardPass is not directed to children under 13 and does not require account creation. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

Updates will modify the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Rights

• View data — preferences, favorites, and cached data are visible in-app
• Delete data — uninstalling the app removes all local data; manual clearing is also available through device settings
• Control location access — manage permissions via your device's Settings app
• Ad preferences — manage ad personalization through your device settings or Google's ad settings
• Support requests — contact us to request deletion of support messages you sent to us, subject to operational and legal retention needs
